Important: Find My Driving Instructor is an introduction platform only. We are not a party to any arrangement between you and an instructor, we do not provide, inspect or insure any car, and we do not handle car-hire payments. The instructor is solely responsible for the car being roadworthy, taxed, MOT’d, fitted with dual controls, insured for your driving test and meeting DVSA car rules; you must check these yourself before test day. To the fullest extent permitted by law we accept no liability for any loss arising from the arrangement, including a cancelled test or lost test fee. See Terms, section 7.

I understand that once my request has been sent to instructors and I have received an offer, the matching service is fully performed and I lose my 14-day right to cancel. If I receive no offer within 7 days (or before my test, if sooner) I can ask for a full refund.

You pay the £9.99 matching fee on the next step (secure checkout by Whop). The price for the car itself is agreed with the instructor.

Questions

Can I use a hire car for my driving test?

Yes, as long as it is fitted with dual controls and meets all the other DVSA car rules (GOV.UK). Most ordinary hire cars do not have dual controls, which is why learners use a driving instructor's dual-controlled car.

How does it work?

Tell us your test centre, date and transmission and pay the one-off £9.99 matching fee. Local instructors with a dual-controlled car send you offers. You choose one and arrange everything, including the price for the car, directly with that instructor.

What does the £9.99 fee cover?

Only our matching service: publishing your request to suitable instructors and passing your details to the one you choose. The price for using the instructor's car is separate, agreed with and paid to the instructor directly.

What if nobody makes an offer?

If no instructor sends an offer within 7 days of payment, or before your test date if sooner, you can request a full refund of the matching fee from your request page.

Who checks the car and insurance?

The instructor is responsible for the car being legal, insured for your test and meeting DVSA rules. We do not inspect cars. Always ask to see the insurance and check the car before test day.
